Email account information for incoming freshmen will be mailed to the students at the beginning of the summer.
Students who graduated in May of 2009 or earlier will lose their email accounts in September. Students graduating later than that will be switched to the new email system, which includes email for life.
If you are continuing on as a graduate student, your email account should continue working until you are no longer a degree seeking student.
We recommend you acquire a free email account from a service such as Gmail, Yahoo!, or Hotmail. We also recommend you use this alternative email address on resumés, job and graduate school applications, and other things of professional nature. Don't forget to change the email address in any account that used @providence.edu (such as your bank account or your weekly updates) as soon as possible.
Alumni of PC can also sign up for an alumni account. The Office of Institutional Advancement has partnered with alumniconnections.com to offer Providence College alumni "email for life" via the Providence College Alumni Online Community. Please note that these accounts are not maintained by the IT department at PC. Any support for these accounts should be directed to the Alumni Online Community linked above.
All students have 10 GB of storage in their Providence College email accounts. This includes all email folders, including Sent Items and Deleted Items. We recommend you regularly empty your Sent Items and your Deleted Items. We also recommend that you do not use your email account as file storage space. If you send yourself attachments, be sure to delete those emails.
There is a size limit of 25 MB for emails sent or received through your PC email account. This includes all text of the email and any attachments.
The College does not support forwarding of email. Email is an official means of communication at Providence College. The Helpdesk and the IT department strongly recommend against forwarding your Providence College email to another email account as we cannot guarantee delivery to that account.
You have 25 GB of storage in your SkyDrive. However, you can only upload files 50 MB or smaller.
