OTHER potential duties depending upon time of Work Study:
Relay for Life- The intern will assist the local staff in developing printing templates for materials supplied by the National office, giving a standard look to all Rhode Island Relay For Life events and creating a repository to allow these templates to be re-used from year to year. The intern will develop guidebooks for the various Relay For Life subcommittees which will allow all sub-committee chairs to be given information and guidance pertaining to their chosen task. The intern would prepare and distribute press releases and media alerts for those events without a publicity chairperson. The fall intern will also assist in preparing team captains’, youth, and sponsorship packets for distribution.
Colleges Against Cancer- The intern will work with the Colleges Against Cancer executive boards and RI Cancer Control Associates to provide necessary materials for planned programs and events. They will also assist in solidifying roles for CAC committee chairs, and developing direction-specific guides for chairs. In developing these guides, they will collate ideas found on the CAC message boards in a best-practices list to be shared with existing and new chapters
Additional Tasks- The intern will research and analyze the historical data of the Newport Ball, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Daffodil Days, and Relay For Life and develop concise, accurate, and updateable reports detailing relevant data.
