Getting Downtown can prove to be somewhat difficult to people who are not used to public transportation. Luckily, PC has partnered with RIPTA to have a bus run right down Huxley to the downtown bus plaza (Kennedy Plaza). The bus line is #55. The ride goes from PC downtown with stops at CVS, the train station, the mall, and, obviously, the bus station. At Kennedy Plaza theres a Greyhound substation allowing you to hop on busses to NYC, Boston etc.
If you happen to miss the 55 bus, no need to worry! You also have the option of taking #50. This bus runs a similar path but does not make all the same stops. When in a pinch, you can take #50 back to PC campus. The catch is that this bus will drop you off at the 711 at the end of Eaton Street or at the CVS at the Admiral/Douglas intersection. Getting off at these stops is not as convienent since you have to walk up to campus either way but tends to run a little later that #55 and leaves you another option.
Since the schedule at the Huxley bus stop has not been updated in a while you can check the schedule for the busses online. (FYI inbound means going from PC to downtown and outbound means downtown to PC) Use the drop down menu to select which bus and route you'd like to see.
I have found the best way to manage your time is to use the phone number 401-781-9400. This is a completely automated system that allows you to check when the next bus is leaving. You can check the next few scheduled times as well as different busses when you're already downtown.
