| ** Note, please be sure to run all Apple Software updates before attempting to install a Xerox printer ** To add a printer: - Download and install the driver from http://itweb.providence.edu/helpdesk/xerox.dmg
- Open System Preferences and select Print and Fax
- Click the [+] to add the new printer
- Select the IP tab
- Make sure Protocol is Line Printer Daemon
- For Address, enter the IP address of your printer. If you need to print to the Political Science Xerox the IP is 10.238.0.89, for the Science Xerox the IP is 10.238.0.47
- Give the printer an appropriate name and location
- In the Print Using menu choose "Select a Driver to use"
- In the Spotlight search box, search for the driver for your printer. Political Science uses WorkCentre 5665, Science uses WorkCentre 5645.
- With the correct driver selected, click the Add button.
- Hit Continue on the Installable Options window. Your printer is now added.
To print a file: - Open the file to be printed.
- Select [Print] from the File menu. The Print window will be displayed.
- Select [Accounting] from the Copies and Pages menu.
- Select [Xerox Standard Accounting or Auditron]. The Accounting window will be displayed.
- Select [Use Default Code]: Enter your org code as the username
- From the Pre-Sets menu, select [Save As] and provide a name for the pre-set. This will save all of the information selected above for all future print jobs.
