Right-click on My Computer (this would just be Computer in the Start Menu in Vista).
Choose Map Network Drive...
Choose a drive letter (it does not need to be G, but that works as good as any).
In the Folder field, type \\student1\USERNAME$, where USERNAME is your email username. If you are a member of the staff or faculty, replace student1 with staff1 or faculty1, respectively.
If you wish to connect to the courseware drive, use \\pcapps1\courseware.
If you wish to connect to your department's H drive, use \\staff1\DEPTCODE, where DEPTCODE is the abbreviation for your department. If you are a member of the faculty, replace staff1 with faculty1.
Click the link for Connect using a different username.
In the Username field enter providence\USERNAME where USERNAME is your email username.
In the Password field enter your email password.
Click OK and your network drive should open.
Check Reconnect at logon if you want your network drive to show up whenever you turn your computer on.
Click Finish.
Apple MacOS X
Open the Finder from the Dock.
Click on the Go menu.
Choose Connect to Server.
In the Address field type smb://student1/USERNAME$ where USERNAME is your email username. If you are a member of the staff or faculty, replace student1 with staff1 or faculty1, respectively.
If you wish to connect to your department's H drive, use smb://staff1/DEPTCODE, where DEPTCODE is the abbreviation for your department. If you are a member of the faculty, replace staff1 with faculty1.
Click on the plus sign (+) button to add this to the favorites list.
Click Connect.
When the next dialog window opens, be sure the Username field shows your username and not your full name.
